The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding production facilities overseas, and was doing business in France and Germany, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. Toto saw North America as a growth market for Washlet bidets and toilets, in contrast to its "base" markets of Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto documented Toto words so that the next generation could understand them. Many words were replaced with foreign ones. For example dui, which was Bengali for verandah, was used.
Origins
Incorporated in 1917, Toto's beginnings mirrored Japan's development. In the beginning of its existence, the company made products to meet the demands of new, modern urban housing. To do this, it used the first tunnel kiln in the country to produce ceramics in continuous flow. It also pioneered the use automation to control production, which allows for more efficiency and consistency.
In the late 1980s, the company began expanding outwards to take advantage of sales and new markets. The company created the Cera Trading Company to import and sell other products of other manufacturers in order to enhance its own line of sanitary earthenwares as well as plumbing fittings. This strategy helped to increase sales and expand the company's market share in the world.
In the 1990s Toto began to concentrate on research and development for water-related appliances. It also improved its system of distribution to better serve its customers and increase profit. The company implemented a just-in-time approach to supply chain management and used the same approach for its sales process. This resulted in a greater level customer satisfaction.
Toto continued to innovate toilet technology. The latest toilet from the company features a powerful, environmentally-friendly tornado flush. Toto also makes use of recycled water in its production process and has a green procurement policy. Toto also produces faucets, bathtubs and hand dryers with higher energy efficiency than typical models.
The first museum of the company opened in 2015 and features exhibits on Toto's most iconic products and their evolution, its group companies (all that deal with ceramics) and the history of plumbing and products such as bath units and, in a separate gallery, Toto products sold around the world. The museum also has bathrooms with a washbasin and other toilet innovations.
Before the formation of Toto the band, members of the band did session work for many musicians. Boz Scaggs album Silk Degrees featured keyboardist David Paich as well as guitarists Mike Porcaro & Steve Lukather as well as drummers Jeff Porcaro & Steve Lukather. They also performed on albums by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
With a name as evocative as Asia you'd think that the group would be prog kings and queens - but it's actually a fairly straightforward rock band. The group was formed as a four-piece and released two albums in 1979, the self-titled debut album and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. But even though the band have a variety of musical backgrounds their biggest breakthrough was achieved in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a major blockbuster, but not without its share of issues. The record companies put Toto under pressure to release an album that was a success or they would drop them. Luckily for Toto they did with the aid of the smash single "Africa."

Toto's musical mastery is a result of their prior experience. Before joining the group, the members worked as session musicians for artists like Boz Scaggs. Steely Dan and Seals and Crofts. Their sonic trademark has become the standard of '80s music, influencing many contemporary artists.
The album opens with a strong and pounding sound with tracks like Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write great AOR songs that slowly get their hooks into your. The album also features slow, jazzier tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. And the album ends with Great Expectations, a song that combines folk with distortion AOR and should sound completely wrong, but actually is incredibly effective.
After Toto IV the band's fortunes started to plummet. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career, and the band had to go through numerous drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the band after drug charges. The band remained with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.
Toto released Isolation despite the turmoil. It wasn't as well-liked as IV. The group managed to release an album that topped the charts, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. The album marked the end of the original Toto lineup and was the first album featuring a new singer, Simon Phillips.

Line-up
Turn Back, the band's third studio album, was a return to a classic sextet structure and it was a more consistent, more powerful album with a sharper edge. Its edgier sound was a reflection of the maturation of the group and featured drummer Bobby Kimball's increased proficiency on the drums, as well as a more confident, mature vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard playing was as well more refined, more precise and less akin to earlier efforts.
After touring to promote their album, the group recorded an Amsterdam live concert that was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set entitled Falling In Between. A new studio album was released just a few months later and the band embarked on a long-distance tour to promote the album. In this time keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.
In 1998, Paich and Lukather started exploring old demos and tapes in search of a new record featuring songs that were never recorded before. The album was released in the form of a double-album called Then & Now in 2001. 메이저사이트 순위 was the first album by the band without a single song titled "A". The album also contained a previously unreleased track "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth album, Old Is New was an uncommercial success and vocalist Williams was suffering from laryngitis that restricted his singing capabilities. Additionally, 메이저사이트 순위 returned to Nashville, while drummer Leland Sklar was replaced by Shem von Schroeck.
Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the founding members of Asia were in England in the beginning of 2006 to discuss the possibility that the group could be revived. This lineup, minus Howe (who was working with Yes at the time) was later referred to as Toto XIV and toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The group also featured a special guest appearance from singer Michael McDonald and a backing vocalist named Mabvuto Carver.
